Prof. Shigeo Okazaki worked for Dentsu Inc. (1982–2017) over 35 years to gain hands-on experiences in research, IMC planning and advertising execution for Japanese and multi-national clients. He also developed Dentsu’s proprietary brand analysis system ‘Brandex’ as a new service for global clients.
While based in Beijing during 2006-2013, he managed an account service/creative unit of 100+ local talents as well as Brand Creation Center to provide Japanese, Chinese and global clients with strategic consulting and implementation of brand communication and action.
He also engaged in delivering brand seminars and courses for major global companies, universities and business schools, speaking at conferences in China, Asia and US. He is a regular columnist for Japanese and Chinese business publications including Toyo-Keizai Online (2012-2014). He authored two books, ‘Globalizing Chinese Brands’ (2016) and ‘Evolution of Brand Strategy’ (2019) which were published in China.
